Folks at a Festival is a series of 80 photos taken on the Malmö town festival. This festival is an annual week of music from several outdoor stages, of markets and a number of booths selling fast food from all over the world. I strolled around on the festival area, which is always in the very center of the town, and took photos of nothing but other people, strolling like me, listening to the concerts, eating exotic snacks. I allowed myself some drastic editing in Photoshop: I dimmed the usually bright, sometimes outright noisy colors, which are difficult to avoid with a digital camera - well, to some extent with any camera using color film. But also, I spared some color on parts of the pictures, as a way of focusing on those details - certain persons, expressions, scenes, in the sea of people. All the photos are "widescreen", so to speak - landscape instead of portrait - which fits better on the usual monitor for Internet surfing, but also fits the festival with its crowded street panorama. To take a stroll among the folks of the festival, just enter through anyone of the pictures here, or through the thumbnail page, and then walk as you please - left, right, up or down as the small arrows indicate - until you have seen enough.
