Love in the Snow

Syllable Poem



Love is to die for

- and you do.


Death is a hole in your shoe,

as you walk in the snow.


Whole is the heart that didn't love

- and does it show!


Snow is the blood of the heart that didn't love

- and of the heart that died.


So, you die if you love,

and you're dead if you don't.


What's a man to do?


I cry when I love,

and I smile when I die.

And though there's a hole in my shoe,

I stomp on the snow.


My "Syllable Poems" are written exclusively with one-syllable words, which is not that hard in the English language. All the words of fundamental importance to a poet have just one syllable.
