  OMOTE - starting position.
Starting position. Tori at right, uke at left - for reasons of visibility - but in the text below, tori moves are in left column, uke in right.

Starting with jo by left side, facing uke.
Starting in chudan kamae, sword drawn and held at middle guard, facing tori.

OMOTE - first step.
Step forward with left foot, lift sword to jodan kamae, over the head.

Step forward with left foot, jo to chudan kamae, middle guard.
Step forward with right foot.
 
 
OMOTE - uke nagashi.

Step forward to the right with the right foot, uke nagashi, parry on high level.
Chudan giri, cut to middle level in the direction of tori's original position.
 
OMOTE - continue through jodan kamae.
OMOTE - yokomen uchi.

Continue the movement of the jo, changing hands, passing jodan kamae as with a sword, to yokomen uchi, hit to the side of uke's head.

OMOTE - uke retreats.
Yield sword to migi no waki, right side guard.
Retreat three steps.

Pull jo back to chudan kamae, middle guard.
Step back to the starting position.
